Ayumi Festival
This event takes place annually on the 16th of August at the main event space in Ayumizaki Park. What originally began as a local festival held each year was eventually transformed into a major city wide event beginning in 1988. The festival is brimming with activities and entertainment taking place on stage and throughout the open-air plaza, including musical and dance performances from various groups, farmer’s markets, raffles, free handouts, wooden building raising ceremonies, and other exciting events. The cheering and roaring from excited onlookers can be heard around the lake during the sensational fireworks show and when the sightseeing cloth sailboats set off across the lake. Pull your family and friends together and come take part in this great spectacle!
